Can "腕を上げる" be also translated as "improving one's ability" here???

Like that:

"そのポーズ... もう少し腕を上げてみたらどうでしょう?"

"That pose... how about trying to improve it a little?"

The whole "overflowing cuteness" thing gets a lot easier when you can just summon a glittery pink backdrop with floating hearts behind your head...
