I have a hard time believing she has legs to begin with mainly do to how her ingame CG makes her "legs" look more like an empty pair of pants than actual legs.
I have a question, is re-class an Abyssal representation of the Iowa class battleship? Because IIRC someone wrote that she was that, a Abyssal personification of the Iowa class battleship because if the Abyssals were representing the Allied ships, I think she would representing the only known Allied Aviation Battleships even though they were only planned, the British Lion class hybrid battleship/aircraft carrier.
Re-class is the abyssal representation of a ship designed to fuck everyone's shit up
No enemy other than the installation types are canonically representations of specific allied ships. And the abyssal fleet isn't just Allied only. Even the staunchest of "abyssal is Allied!" claimers can't possibly explain away DD Hime
The Iowa theory is based on the attacking power. There's even assumption made that the airplanes are actually missiles.
I personally prefer the theory that it's just the staffs in their after-work drinking party throwing idea of an all-purpose enemy ship with broken stats for the lulz.
Without any official statement that the enemy are allied ships, the staffs actually have much more freedom to design the enemy ships and balance it for the game. It also make less problem when they actually add British or American ships.

Actually, I did heard a rumor that Tanaka and Shimada were discussing that someday, Allied Ships will be added in the game (probably starting with the British), the source was an article from Nyantype which I forgot which issue.
I've always been partial to the idea she didn't have legs to begin with. The leggings always seemed empty and looking at the way her "tail" links up with the lower half of her body, I always felt that she was always a lamia-like entity. It certainly fits since of all the humanoid non-boss enemies, she is the most insane in stats and ability.

But anyway its just a rumor though.
Wasn't Prinz Eugene used by the US navy as a trophy ship? IIRC, they were going to repair her after the bikini atoll test before she capsized.

Its a first step towards an actual US ship
Same can be said for Nagato, they were both used for nuke tests.
Her aircraft capacity will become larger, and her tail will be longer, then this part become like this, and that part would become...She ends up becoming like monster girlI wonder how this girl would be when she grew up
