Windows XP... its too old and started acting up, eh? Consider this as a chance to get a new one!

Reader-added tags right now consist of "Severe-scolding-from-Youmu flag" and "Hang in there, Yuyuko-sama".

The survey breaks it down for us:

What's your pattern for being troubled by a breakdown?
    • It breaks down when I'm busy
    • There's no stability to the symptoms
    • It won't operate at all
    • It propagates to multiple machines
    • When I take it in for repairs, the symptoms don't show

God damn that, every system check gives undervoltage on the processors how does that suddenly stop and come back on return?
At least they caught it the second time... and told me ''repairing'' it wasn't really an economical option.

Oh well, that bloody computer is taken apart and scrapped now, hahahaha...
( Would have really enjoyed it if the processor had been salvagable)

Old notebook finally works... So what are you gonna do to justify your new one? *In before Yuyuko-sama gets her meal funds cut*

I personally think the XP is more than sufficient for regular word-processing and general usage, especially for low-end machines (such as my still-functional 9-year-old laptop). It won't let you play newer, more system-demanding games, but more than sufficient for old-school games without having to worry about system compatibility.

Breakdown, you say? ...Yeah, I either have to troubleshoot it myself or just change some parts around. Not enough funds for a complete overhaul or a new machine.

Nah, after Kogasauthor removed (and replaced) the HDD the lappie fixes itself. That's why Yuyukoauthor cries, because she had bought a new notebook while the old one is still usable. As they say, never replace your laptop aside when it needs to be serviced more than once per month.

When I take it in for repairs, the symptoms don't show

Many moons ago when I first got into IT I worked for a small company that did PC repair and had one system a customer brought in several times only to have it work fine when I put it on the bench. As a joke I printed a picture of myself the last time, taped it to the door of the case so that it looked like I was watching the MB. Totally forgot about it till I ran into the guy a few years back in the store... apparently my "fix" is still doing the trick!

    The_Shadow said about "presenсe effect"

The prove that electronics have "soul" a.k.a. "white smoke" - if smoke erupted, the electronics dead.

Laptop in my possesion was very capricious when I get it. When installed pure Win7 it required some rare drivers. It was hard to find proper drivers for it. When found - it had unstable perfomance. Lets say it was like "delinquent kid".
Before installing Win8 on me desktop, I tried it on that laptop. Well, it installed, but wireless network didn't worked at all. There was some more issues that forced me to roll back. Then I roll back to Win7 with same install kit - it became very stable and timid now.

Electrons are timid little things but notional; you have to let them know who's boss.

At any rate, I've put the HDD back where it was.
If only this little one hadn't been broken, I wouldn't have had to waste so much money...
    Skch Skch
I even pulled out the data for later.
    Thank you, Kogasa-chan.
    Hurray!♡
