I still can't believe people think the Roomba is a great invention. Well, except for pets which can ride it. It seriously is more efficient and effective to just vacuum clean yourself.
I like the fact that it is at least successful enough to generate some good doujin material. :)

It's Gensokyo; something that can move on its own like that would be considered impressive to some.

Considering Nitori's expression, this particular roomba probably transforms into a gundam.

Because it is/was a major step forward. The Roomba was a consumer grade proof of concept of a semi-autonomous robot. You're only looking at it as a cleaning device, while the company has gone on and used the technology as a video collaboration device and military bomb disposal/reconnaissance vehicle.

That does not make it a great invention - it makes it a great validation of concept.
I am glad to hear that it has continued development into more applications it is more effective at, however.

I am glad to hear that it has continued development into more applications it is more effective at, however, "but enough of this." *Praetor Fenix's voice*
Every invention is a validation of concept. Controlled manned flight was nothing more than a concept until the Wright Brothers "invented" it.
