I'm not so sure about that: in the demo, Kasen has superb melee, quick direct-fire abilities, the eagle can be used as an underhanded remote strike, and she can apply pressure like nobody's business. My first though when going up against her in Story mode: "Holy crap, this is Meiling all over again!"

And Meiling got her ass kicked eventually lol, also doesn't in the story she is allied with Reimu and Marisa anyway ? from what i read it seems that way .

Well yeah, she was the Player's opponent, after all...
I'm not saying she's imbalanced, but she can be a serious threat if you know how to play her half-well. If you have a solid handle on her, she's damn near unbeatable: Meiling could knock people back with her "down-forward-melee" move, which could upgrade into a shield to absorb danmaku; the "down-back-melee" could be used to cross short-to-medium distances instantly and engage (both varieties); and her "meleex3-down+melee" combo has just the right timing to set up a perma-juggle if the opponent is backed into a corner, which is very hard to break out of. And let's not even talk about eh "down-down-melee" in its upgraded form as an anti-air move...
