I honestly think this would fit better in Digging Your Own Grave than Told You Not to Do That, mainly because we're not seeing the punishment-in-progress. I am willing to listen to good reasons for it to go in the latter pool, though.
Shoukaku(翔鶴) can be read as "Kakeduru" (Or Kakezuru, if going by Hepburn romanization). A US spy based in Japan made the same mistake, and when his intel was passed on to USN headquarters, someone managed to mix up d and k, turning "Kakeduru" into "Kadekuru".
