Battle heels aside, this is more like the Samus I grew up with.

Only in Other M and onward did she wear heels. There was no other time that she has ever worn heels.

Go back and look at the art

She has heels in almost(maybe not even almost) every apperance outside of teh power suit. Not as high.

I have and as far back as it goes is Other M. Prime series did not show her outside of the suit. Gameboy versions do not show heels nor does the official art from the instrution guide for the NES and SNES. Other M has been out for almost 4 years which is the starting point to put the 6'1-6'3 Amazoness in heels.

I'm sorry. This whole thing has me kind of angry, so in my haste, I...overstated

First off, she's not depicted out of her suit that much and when she is her heel is rarely visible. There are only about 3 times in the entire series before other M to my knowledge. When I said "always" I meant "whenever she was depicted

When I said "art" I meant in game art and the only time we see her in in-game art is fusion and zero mission, so that's as far as it goes back.
