The worst kind of scenario a soldier will be in some wars...
They aren't blindfolded or shot immediately where they stand like in most executions, and only their arms are bound, you could just get up and run, or parry the rifle with your body if you don't have danger of others nearby. You still might not survive, but at this point there isn't much to lose?
I don't really feel anything in fact that Soviet are the one who invaded Afghanistan so they just got what they deserve. :p

But honestly, I don't really see how Soviet soldiers are responsible for Afganistan invasion, even if some of them were professionals (most were conscripts).

they were told the same thing we were told: you're giving them a better life. they were told to get on that plane, to use that vehicle, to keep the peace between this clan and that clan.
and they died, just like we did. and they solved nothing, just like we did.
that soldier you see could be wearing ANY nation's uniform. that's the risk we take, that's what we train to avoid, and that's what inevitably happens when we're sent wherever the dollar conservators want us to go.

Wow. I almost cut myself on that edge. Military service in Soviet Union was mandatory, if you didn't know. They didn't even choose two be soldiers in the first place (unlike US soldiers, for example, who invaded Afghanistan too)
There goes the Geneva Convention . BTW... that's an AKM (a 1957 modernization of the AK-47) because of the slanted shape of the recoil compensator (or muzzle brake).

Soviet soldiers fought in Afghanistan against terrorists. The US and its servants, with their cries, forced them to leave. and what do we see in Afghanistan after they leave? The country is in even greater catastrophe. there is a flourishing war and terror.
