Mikazuki's name is written as "三日月", which means "Crescent Moon" but character-per-character, translates as "Three Day Moon". "Three" is represented as the three stripes on the glyph, "Day" or "Sun" is represented by the circle and "Moon" is the large Crescent Moon.
