We are translating from one language to another, there might be some expressions of the culture that are lost in translation. That'd make it hard to understand for those who don't know. So, please, be mindful of how you translate. If it's formal ones, then you only need to get the meaning through, that's fine. But with literature related ones, I, myself, always advice other translators to keep it close to the original text to convey all the meaning without much loss.
