It said in the manga that shape and form have no meaning to Alucard. He can appear however he wishes to. If that happens to be a teenage girl, well we already knew Alucard was touched in the head. From what I hear he did it mostly to screw with young Walter's mind.

Hahaha that's freakin' hilarious. someone needs to post where we all can read the entire Hellsing: The Dawn manga.
