Even if you ignore Shou being too slow to keep up with harassment, up to this point, Meiling had been the most sensible character in this series.

kind of want to put this in soul-crushingly depressing. meiling has always been a little depressed or in denial but at this point, she's nearly shut off her emotions and is just accepting the reality of constantly being stalked and raped by insane sakuya

My guess is it's some kind of combination of Pat(chouli) + tsu + san. The tsu part I think is a play on how some names can be combined with an honourific to sound cute by putting a small tsu before the honourific to double the consonant (i. e. Patchouli + chan = Patcchan). Or it's just supposed to be Pat(chouli) + san = Pattsan.

It's more like "tsan". It's an elision/slurring of "san" when it follows a name ending in "chi" or "tsu", even if that final sound is the result of an elision itself. For instance, I've heard of the name "Hattsan" (八っつぁん) for Hachigoro, a character from Edo-era rakugo. There's also "Tottsan" (とっつぁん, "Pops"), a variation on "tou-san" (父さん) classically used by Lupin III and company as a nickname for Inspector Zenigata. Unfortunately, there's no clear, standard equivalent for that type of casual honorific in English.

Ok thanks, that makes a bit more sense now. It always sucks being American and not speaking Japanese but having a slight understanding idea of some of it.
