    Anthropomorphic Patrol Frigate Xin Yang

    Patrol Frigate Xin Yang is the kai ni(?) form of the first Type-D Destroyer of the Japanese navy, Hatsuume. She was transferred to the Republic of China as a reparation ship in 1947, and renamed once to "Transfer No. 3," then renamed again to DD-15 Xin Yang. Then, in 1955, she was reclassified as a patrol frigate, becoming PF-82. Her Japanese armaments were also renewed and replaced with American-made ones. Having been constantly sent into fierce combat, she was the only Matsu-class destroyer to see action after World War II. Additionally, as she reused parts from her sister ship Tsuta, Tsuta always remains with her in fairy form.

    Well, there's really little to say about a ship that was completed in June 1945. She was one of four Matsu/Tachibana class destroyers handed over to China, but she was the only one to be re-armed, Japanese destroyers were disarmed before being used to repatriate Japanese personnel and they were not re-armed before being handed over to the Chinese/Russians/etc.(I suppose Kancolle players are familiar with this if anything because of Verniy and Sakawa). To be fair quite often they were not even properly overhauled.
    She was first used to evacuate (in tow) other ships from Shangai, during her career she took part to a number of minor skirmishes with the communists.
    She was initially re-armed in 1948 with two 12 cm guns in single mounts and an assortment of smaller calibre guns (3 57mm, 2 40mm and 4 20mm), but I have no idea about the exact nature of this armament, they really used whatever they had available, at the time the Americans didn't collaborate a whole lot with the nationalists. She was later re-armed with two American 127 mm guns in single mounts, seven 40 mm Bofors and six 20 mm Oerlikons when she was re-rated as frigate in 1955.
