He also ignored direct orders from Hitler to kill Jewish POWs and vocally protested the treatment of the Jewish people. He was known for engaging POWs in a friendly and casual manner, making sure they were fed adequately as well. Famous for putting his soldiers' lives first often saying, "Germany will need men after the war". He was a brilliant general and wonderful person, currently the only member of the Third Reich to have a museum in his name in Germany. Shame he got screwed over and was forced to die so early. ... Plus his genderswap is pretty hot :3

One thing that has to be said that some of his supposed good shit has to be questioned. No doubt he was a fair and just man, but we must take into consideration that: 1) Alot of stuff made about him during the war was by his own film crew (Yes, he had a film crew follow him around everywhere) 2) The US didn't want the entire world to hate on the Germans people after the war, so the uptight and just Rommel was the perfect example to de-villainize the Germans. So, some of his good deeds could have been exaggerated.

Rommel is seen sharing a meal with his soldiers and staff on top of a tank. In the background, you can see an 8.8 cm anti-aircraft gun, which was also active in the North African campaign as an anti-tank gun.
Rommel frequently positioned himself at the front lines, sharing meals and beds with his troops. He was affectionately referred to as "the Old Man" by the soldiers. He treated prisoners of war with respect, and when the British officer captured due to dissatisfaction with water supplies in North Africa protested, Rommel responded, "Please address that to my supply officer, Lieutenant So-and-so."
Rommel was not only a brilliant tactician, but also had a chivalrous and noble spirit admired by his men, earning him the nickname "The Desert Fox."
