    フレッチャー級駆逐艦　コンヴァース

    量産兵器の軍艦でもそれぞれエピソードがあるのはどの国でも同じ
    コンヴァースは第23駆逐戦隊（リトルビーバーズ）”アーレイ・バーク”司令の元にいた駆逐艦で
    1988にスクラップにされるまでスペインにおいて働いていた名艦です。
    時期的に、彼女もきっと31ノットで艦隊行動していたはずです。

    And about USS Converse DD-509, she was participant of the Battle of Cape St. George on November 25, 1943, this was a five against five destroyer engagement which the USN won without losing any ship while the Japanese lost 3 destroyers and 1 was damaged, this was the last major surface ship engagement in the Solomons and also marked the end of the Tokyo Express. As part of DesRon 23 (AKA 'The Little Beavers'), she participated on many actions in the Pacific War which won her 11 battle stars and a presidential citation. After her service to the USN, she was transferred to the Spanish Navy as Almirante Valdes (D23).

    So I bet she likes tomatoes.
