    Not actually caused her death but she suffered incapacitating damage from the collision which severed her bow while Myoukou suffered only minor damage, then after being dead on water, the USN destroyers decided to finish her off with gunfire and sunk afterwards. Well, Myoukou somehow contributed for her demise.

    Well, that's a little like saying someone was "killed by wolves", and you only "contributed to their demise" when you drugged them, tied them up and left them naked and bleeding in the woods smothered with marinade right in front of wolves you knew were hungry.

    Having the bow sheared off her left her dead in the water, and incapable of evading the advancing Americans that could pick her off at their leisure. A ship that can't sail during a retreat is a dead ship, no matter how you look at it.
