When I remake an evolution line, I kind of like for there to be a similar design element so that it'll look more connected. Since Magikarp and Gyrados are so drastically different, I'm trying to go for the idea that the Magikarp simply holds the egg of gyrados instead

(I mean this in regards to the style/pattern with which I'm trying to be consistent with for these --not meant to be a critique on the original design)

......... and yes, it totally eats the magikarp when it hatches
