I was fighting a huge urge to translate that line as "Stop right there, criminal scum."

It wouldn't even be that far off.

Admiral and "Washboard" are already close enough to use nicknames with each other.

2 years late, but aren't those torpedoes supposed to be backward? I can see their rear ends.

A more likely explanation is that he happened to use a model of torpedo with an external grazing type contact fuze AKA "Whiskers" as a reference. Quite possibly the the G7E, one of the most common torpedoes used by U-boats during the war. So far as I'm aware however aside from maybe one late war mod of the Type 91 aerial torpedo which as I recall was to use long whiskers to try and get the weapon to explode 'under' the bilge of a ship to act as a sort of crude keel breaker, the IJN did not use torpedoes with whiskers during the war. (As aside this mod of of the Type 91 may have been responsible for the unusually heavy damage to Houston and Canberra from single aerial torpedoes in 1944 though)

Isn't that the small propeller on the front that arms the fuse after a set number of rotations to prevent premature detonation rather than any kind of detection system?

There, there, you did great. You're constantly so excellent.
...That's supposed to be my place...
What did you say, Washboard? I'll ram my cannon into you.
Ahh...... she lost her chance to show off.
    Admiraaal, praise me, praise meee!
You want to eat my torpedoes again?
Welcome back. Seems like you guys managed to somehow take down your first enemy battleship...
    Oh, there, there.
Now then, it's been difficult for the critically damaged Ushio. I'll go visit those two lethal weapons of hers.
The enemy battleship got one-shotted by Suzuya.
    What happened to Kongou?
    Stop right there, you pervert.
