Compared to all the excellent animes which Gainax have created, I get the feeling that the Mahoromatic anime was made by a bunch of work-experience students during their summer break.
What are you talking about? Fanservice aside, Mahoromatic was one of the greatest anime they've done (IMO). I mean, yeah, there's Evangelion & the like, and FLCL is awesome, but the storyline in Mahoromatic was fantastic, and I'd say it was beautifully done.
(Not to mention that it's got just about everything you could want in an anime.)
Mahoromatic is one my personal favorites, so to say it was done by work-experience students says a lot for those people. It is a heavily under-rated show.
