    Youmu-san loves car driving, and so goes all over the place every time there's a holiday, it seems.

    Her driving skills are super-reassuring! Naturally, this strip is a manga-esque expression of that! :-)

    Renting cars with studless tires is expensive in Tokyo, so we took my car as far as Sendai. Cars with studless tires are standard in the winter there!

    The real issue is that his car doesn't have winter tires, but normal ones. Studless just refers to the fact that the winter tires here don't have metal studs (which are illegal in some areas, because the studs can damage roads).
