Looks like even the other shinkaisei-kan don't like her or something.
That's because she has the firepower of a battleship (Ta-Class), Plane bombing of aircraft carrier (Wo-Class) and Torpedo Salve of Torpedo Cruiser (Chi-class)

So... she's overpowered? (I know postively nothing about Kantai)

Is Re-class a boss character or something? Because that sounds insane.
As an aside, I've now read Japanese players who think that she's a representation of the Iowa-class (1980's) since the IJN had nothing for this... so, completely overpowered Demonic Spider mook.

I'm quite sure the Iowa-class battleships were never able to launch torpedoes, let alone torpedoes rivaling the strength of a torpedo cruiser's. I doubt the USN had anything like the Re-class either.
I'm anticipating aircraft carriers with preemptive torpedo attacks to come next. And main cannons as backup in case all their planes get shot down.

I much guess it could be a mix of the Royal Navy and the USN since the british had a Battlecrusier-class that can launch torpedoes during that time.

Re-class as Iowa-class 1980s modernization.
Air attack = Tomahawk Missile Torpedo Attack = Harpoon Anti-ship missile, which is much more deadly than a torpedo and replaced the surface engagement torpedo on all US surface ships. This is no stretch at all.
The only CVs that can do that are Russia's, which came after the war.

Huh, I see. I knew about those, but I had the impression they travelled above the water, not under. Then again, it's hard to tell that from the animation alone.
And the 1980s upgrade was also way after the war anyway.
EDIT: Was about to say that above-water missiles shouldn't be affected by T-cross, but then I remembered that Fog ships were also affected.
Also, if the Re was based on 1980s Iowa-class the air attack wouldn't be based on the Tomahawk missiles because they carried planes as well.

Harpoons are sea-skimmers, yes, but translate that into Kancolle game-logic and they'd be virtual torpedoes. It's just a way to utilize existing code.

And? The point is, that the comments I read seemed to be getting at, the type of technology to do the sort of thing that Re-chan does just simply did not exist during WW2. There was only 1 battleship class that was in WW2 (or ever for that matter) to have that kind of capability. That was the Iowas during their 1980's reactivation.

...Seriously? The planes were removed right after Korea. In the late 1950s. Honestly, from what I've read, they were deemed useless in Korea too, they had land-based spotters (aircraft included).
Even though the game calls them Dive Bombers, I'm pretty sure that this was merely to not ruffle the hair of their consumer base (who would ironically have preferred it if they had done the other thing, I'm sensing, judging from the number of comments on Iowa-class depictions [on pixiv] suggesting that they carry Nuclear Tomahawks in their final form...). Something about the Nuclear Weapons taboo.
Also, they could carry exactly 3 float-planes. 3. Not 180. Not bashing here, just failing to see how you made that conclusion.

Maybe game codes.
Wiki listed her airplane as "Flying Fish Dive Bomber", the flying fish should be their version of Seaplane (BB can't equip standard airplane)
As for torpedo bomber and dive bomber, the game have different modifier for bomber and torpedo damage, so there's that. Fighter in the other hand is just to boost AA stats. How effective would AA stats against missiles ?
For game players, can dive bomber attack subs ? Or is that left to the torpedo bombers ?
Quantity of airplane... - Wo-chan Kai (144) - Re-chan Elite (180) <== and this isn't even her final form A battleship loaded with more airplanes than an aircraft carrier... either they're on crack or they released stage boss stats as normal enemy.
If I'm reading this right, I pretty much agree with you. However, just in case I'm not reading your comment correctly, I'll respond anyway.
It's possible that they did it for game coding issues, but in that case they could have just called it something else but left its programming as a Dive Bomber (which is what I would do).
I am aware that BBs can't equip standard planes in the game. That was actually another point that I was going to make that I forgot about. However, if a friend of mine is right, Re-chan is actually programmed into the game as an Aircraft Carrier. ...Which gives other interesting angles to take this.
For the AA vs Missiles, in Real Life the WW2 Iowa (using the period 20/40mm AA, 5in, and 16s) would have a fairly good chance of shooting down incoming cruise missiles that are traveling in the subsonic range. ~18,800lbs of AA shrapnel dumped within 1000 feet (cubed) would most certainly destroy any missile, assuming that the ship had the time to react to it. Speaking of which, our Radar back then actually could pick up a single Tomahawk or Harpoon in flight at ~30nmi... which would still be very dangerous, considering it could pick up a single fighter plane at more than double that and just one hit could very plausibly ruin their day, and there would likely be more than just one inbound their direction.
Off topic, but... To cover an argument before it starts, the reason why they don't use this set up/philosophy for modern anti-missile defense boils down to two things: cost (that's a lot of bullets) and Russian missiles move a whole lot faster than ours (4 times faster, actually).
Back on topic. Speaking of the airplane quantity... yes, it's a common assumption that the developers are as high as kites when they're doing their designing.

Yeah, it ends up to developer's choice. For me, I'd choose consistency with previous convention.
There's possibility that later upgrades (Mk.3 or 5? new enemies) could introduce missile weapons that has different damage modifier. Labelling missile to dive bomber entity now would bring inconsistency, even if it's named correctly in the code level.
About the coded as CV, could be true. Read in a group that using (the deemed illegal) API link to play could reveal hidden informations about the stats.
