In case anyone doesn't get it, Airfield Hime is weak to Type-3 shells. Her text for damage is also different from Kanmusu (being an airfield and all) with "Confused/Mayhem" replacing "Slightly Damaged".

To expand on that, the Type 3 Shell was an antiaircraft shell used in the main guns of a battleship. It would burst in midair, releasing ~1000 incendiary submunitions to clear aircraft from a patch of the sky. It was probably very effective against wooden hangars or aircraft on the ground, but useless against another battleship.

Would probably not have been very fun for the planes and crew on the deck of a carrier if it had actually managed to reach such targets.

Obliterating the airfield itself is not always the objective. What's important is disabling the take off and landing ability because it will make the airfield useless. Air power from the base is gone, and aircrafts from other location such as carriers can't land there for resupply.

The scatter bomb only need to damage the surface of the airstrip enough to make airplanes can't run on it.
But well trained ground crews could return it to operational in short time.
