Where I live in the U.S I have never seen a restaurant serve one. I wish they did.

If you don't live on either the northeast coast (NY/NJ, mainly), or the central west coast (San Francisco-to-L.A. range, mainly), you're not likely to see one at all, I'm afraid. Sushi restaurants are fairly popular, but Kansai cuisine is barely established Stateside, as far as I know. Even proper ramen places are scarce.

That's the damned truth. I have found 1 ramen shop, ever.

Here in the Philippines, I only know one place where they sell okonomiyaki. It was pretty good, but one order was pretty big, and I almost didn't finish it. They also sold rice balls which were not in the menu but they'll make one if you ask. As for ramen, can't say that there's any ramen places here, since for most part we have our own noodles that taste pretty great.

I hear Seattle has a pretty spiff Japanese district. Though, not being an owner of a motor vehicle, I rarely get down that far and have never been to the market. Though someone did bring me ramune from there once. Mmmh.

You can't find okonomiyaki on the menu anyplace around here in Oregon. (Though back in '99 or so when we were watching Ranma ½ all the time we mentioned it while in a local fancy Japanese restaurant -- and the chef was from Osaka and had been wanting to make some, so we came back for a proper okonomiyaki party. Mmm.)
