It doesn't have an open slide. It looks more like a Smith & Wesson M&P due to the slide indentations and the position of cocking serrations.

That grip seems like a good way to slice your thumb open...

That's how semiautomatic handguns work. The slide will move back when firing. Some people who either aren't holding it right or are using certain handguns will get slide bite which are small scratches on the web of skin between the thumb and index finger due to the slide hitting the area. To avoid this, most manufacturers design their guns in a way that prevent the slide from touching the hand by either adding a beavertail, which is an extension of material that stands between the hand and the slide, or by positioning the slide higher on the gun where the movement of the slide will clear a safe distance above the hand.

The step cut on the front of the slide and placement of the slide engravings are pretty distinctively M&P, as is the design of the mag baseplate.

That grip has the supporting hand's thumb on the dust cover, below the slide. Can't speak to the dominant hand in the picture, but that thumb should also be low (or else far out) enough from the slide to avoid slide-induced unpleasantness.

I still don't know why Sakuya has the spotlight on this artists works when Reisen is far superior. Then again that may just be my Reisen bias working here...

Plus the Smith and Wesson M&P doesn't have a hammer like a Glock, and it's rear sights are also a key identification feature. Also noteworthy is the unique front end design of the gun.

After careful examniation I can determine that the weapon she is wielding is a Smith and Wesson M&P, not sure what caliber round it chambers though...
