There's a team in Initial-D called Akagi Redsuns and they're based in Mount Akagi, carrier Akagi's namesake.

The thing Akagi is eating is a wankel engine rotor dressed like a onigiri.

It is also worth mentioning that another course in Initial D (called Akina in-story) is based on an actual mountain called Haruna. Which is where Battleship Haruna's namesake originates from.

Most IJN capital ships are named after mountains, so this type of namesake parody is to be expected.

Or rather, IJN battlecruisers (and heavy cruisers) are named after mountains, and the Kongou-class and Akagi (an Amagi-class) were converted battlecruisers.

(IJN battleships are named after ancient Japanese provinces. Yamato is one example. Kaga was originally intended to be a battleship before her conversion.)
