You know I really like this perspective. Obviously impossible to emulate on then-hardware and probably not exactly how APE envisioned it, but I really like the sense of scale. It more resembles an American suburb on the heels of a large city. To present an example, it looks like my town of East Greenbush NY, naturally pouring into the city of Albany. A more logical depiction of American locales than in the game(s), where the towns were secluded suburbs in the woods, with little to nothing connecting them. This depiction is more reminiscent of the arrangement of landmarks in Mother 1, where towns were enormous, and little houses in-between the cities and towns better emulated something more, dare I say, realistic? They had to shrink the towns a bit more in Earthbound, in order to fill them with more essential and detailed objects, characters and colours, even.

Forgive my schizophrenic analysis.
