As much I enjoy (cringe) watching this show, I don't see how anyone can sympathize with her. Her personality is just downright awful.
I think of it more as a parody of the anime culture. Basically, if she were fat and had a penis, she'd be every negative stereotype of anime nerd culture. The RANK hypocrisy of her looking down on everyone else as being a "slut" (while doing nothing but thinking of getting laid, herself,) and about how pathetic everyone else is (when she's in the worst situation of all), and that she'd be able to solve almost all her problems if she'd just realize how much she has in common with Kotomi, and just be friends with her, but she's so perpetually set to self-destruct.
Honestly, the things I find most unforgivable are what she does to (and thnks about) Yuu-chan.
Still, I find her just too pathetic to really hate entirely. She'd be a villain if she had the power to hurt anyone but herself, but she doesn't.
