So I guess that was Armin in the new intro. It was interesting to see him with that kind of expression. I have yet to see any scene like that in the manga thus far so it could be showing something that has yet to be released. Looking forward to see how that unfolds.

Openings don't reflect everything that goes on in an anime. If Armin in this kind of expression never happened in the manga yet, I expect a direct adaptation leading to an anime-only ending.

You could be right. Though, to be fair the anime has been pretty faithful to the manga thus far so I guess it's really anyone's call right now.

Maybe it is Armin's reaction to the way people keep portraying him in pictures as girly.

I'm pretty sure they've mentioned that they have no intention for an anime only end. Openings pretty rarely reflect what goes on in a series itself, and I really can't see this changing with Titan.
