It's the latter part.
Well, it's a story about Nazrin monitoring Shou and Shou being the representative of Bishamonten for Hijiri.
It seems like a human was about to find out that Hijiri is a youkai. Angered, Shou tried to kill the human but were stopped by Nazrin. Somehow the situation got worse in the former part.
I believe that's how it went.
