They like their reputation, but they aren't stupid: if a bunch of Knights Templar are walking around, they would run away just like everything else, reputation or no. In the same vein, they aren't going to take a taken man because they don't want to risk getting attacked by the opposite monster, or said monster's potential allies.
As for the women, they don't care what they think; the point is to scare the men. They would probably settle for just scaring the girls off, which would be enough, since everyone should know that monsters prefer men.
sometimes monstergirls can have the same feelings for woman as for man and have sex with them. the most reason can be when woman share their husband/partner with a monstergirl and find her sexually desirable. for monstergirls who only want sex with humans but no partner in her life can have male and female sex friends for fun. to have the imagination for monstergirls sex with a man and woman at the same time they may well try to animate it.
