Yamame failed again, right?

Yamame : Mission failed

To this day, I still haven't exercised that right. I was considering using it after Reitaisai, but my throat was so hoarse I couldn't make normal conversation, much less sing, so there went that idea. (^^;) But man, I'm looking forward to it!

Moonspeaker, I love how you translate Yamame's dialogue, but it always leaves me curious about the literal meaning of the Japanese idioms she uses, if any. (Well, when you don't add Translator's Notes, anyway.)

She doesn't really use idioms much, just Kansai dialect. Since American English sometimes doesn't have enough dialectal equivalents, I use idioms instead, as the translation would otherwise read like standard English.

Well, there's no idioms in the original text there in this strip, at least. I do agree that the idioms do add much character to the dialogue, though.

Yamame-san thinks she's getting out of karaoke with Kogasa-san? That's cute. It'll come one day, Yamame-san, just you wait and see, and then it'll be drawn and put up on the Internet, so all of us can have a laugh later.
