Why do I see Yuugi for some reason having her face going through a Brock Samson-esque rage face now?

So Yuugi is so strong she can punch incorporeal entities? So she basicly is the Chuck Norris of touhou.(In this Fanon-verse)

So I wasn't the only one who imagined this.

"Hella"? Try as I might I can't imagine Suika as a Californian... But I'm not the one translating.

Is that strictly Californian? I first heard it on South Park years back. I was basically looking for a slangy way of saying "extremely" without clashing with Suika's perpetually buzzed slur.

If it was used heavily in California 20 or 30 years ago, and got used in a lot of Hollywood films or shows, it can be pretty much anyplace in America. At least in the cities.

I've never heard it anywhere outside of California except from people who are from California (and only from people under 30, suggesting that it's only 10-15 years old). It's a regional term. Like "wicked" is for the New England. As you hit New York you start hearing "wicked" as an adjective. Once you reach Mass. the term is everywhere. I can't see Suika being a New Englander either, though. I think a more general term would be "crazy" or "super". And I think Suika would gravitate towards "crazy".

I have lived in California for 20 years and I have never heard anyone say "hella" here. Well, at least not un-ironically.

It originated in LA (or at least people in LA claim that it originated there), but it sees plenty of use as far north as San Francisco. I didn't hear it during my brief visit Sacramento, so it might not see any use up by Redding, but I didn't spend much time in northern California, so I wouldn't know for sure. Also mostly surfer and skater types use it, so if you avoid skate parks and beaches you won't hear it much. All I really remember is getting a lot of strange looks for using "wicked" and looking at people strangely for using "hella".

But come on California, "hella" isn't even a word. At least use something that exists. The English language is confusing enough without people making up words for no reason.
