Perhaps the lesson is the same for all conflicted art students. Believe me, I was one of them, but I turned out... legit, at least.

Look up the book "The Iron Dream" by Norman Spinrad. In his version of history, Hitler emigrates to the US after WWI and becomes a successful science fiction illustrator and author.

WW2 without Hitler is a worrying idea, though. Without him handicapping them, nazi Germany could have won the war -or at least end it early, forcing a treaty while they were still winning. Like the Thalmor did.

Actually without Hitler, I doubt the Nazi will be able to rise to power.
Also, Hitler's initial plans do work (most likely will still end with peace treaty), just that he change he mind too quickly and stubbornly. Even Stalin knows when to listen to his generals.

I remember a story, when Hitler did get his dream come true (an artist) and made a story where a certain man (yeah that thing) battling humanoid monsters (jews) and become popular in the US.
