One of the things they don't mention along with every new article, but is part of the setting, is that if you have a monster girl "wife" already, the others can smell it, and won't go after you. If you proactively go out and find one of the ones you'd like to be with, you'd be left alone by the rapey monstergirls.
Some of the more submissive girls are the ones that are more "domestic", for that matter, and either live with humans all the time or are kept as "livestock", like some of the Zipangu creatures or Holstaurus.
