While its not really an exact number to go by, I'd consider Sakuya, Meiling and Utsuho's height from 12.3 (as well as everyone else in 12.3) to be a fairly good indicator of their heights.

I don't think I ever even seen any Japanese women over 185, let alone 200 cm tall...

While there may not be canon heights, there is an estimate on them. Cirno and all the faires are as tall as small children. Rinnosuke is freaking tall compared to Reimu and Marisa.

They don't. At best Zun has only given general sizes for some of them(short, average, tall, etc.) and he changes his mind and character designs a lot so even that might not be accurate anymore.

Also, Zun doesn't police the creative control others have during collaborative works. So anything that wasn't drawn by him can be outright ignored.

He actually does police the creative control. He's just a nice guy about it. He specifically asks Alphes "not to exagerate the breast sizes" when he draws them up for the fighting games.

He's not super anal about the artistic license, but he does tell them what not to do. Silent sinner in Blue being one of the ones he had the most hand in since that's one of his deeper stories about the Touhouverse that he can't do in game format.(Unless he ever wants to try making an RPG)

Alphes is just drawing up poses, Silent Sinner in Blue is an entire manga where ZUN had to explain exactly how different scenes where played out.

Am I the only one who thinks that bkub's interpretation of Shikieiki's is the closest look to canon?
