Does Asakura really count as a yandere? She didn't really have a psychotic episode to speak of... she just tried to kill Kyon in order to advance her research. It was premeditated and calculated.

She counts I think. She's sweet and nice at first, then goes psycho over time. I don't think it matters what her reasons were to do so, since "yandere" just describes the end result.

Err... Don't these count more as yangire than yandere?

I consider yangire sort of a subgenre of yandere... But yeah, you're right.

But that's what I'm saying - she doesn't 'go psycho'. She's incapable of going psycho because she's not human.

Be quiet, the point is, she appears sweet, but she also tried to kill somebody in a pretty nasty way, emotions or no.
