well chest armor was traditionally refered to as a Breast Plate atleast most of the time. The term is unisexual but yes it is usually used just for woemen.
Traditionally 'breast' was synonymous with 'chest' and referred to the upper front torso area on both sexes; the presence of nipples actually has nothing to do with it. Incidentally, the Japanese word 胸 (mune) has almost identical usage to English's archaic AND modern usages of 'breast'.
