It's just one of those things normal people don't tend to do. Unless that blade happens to be a butter knife that you just dipped into a jar of peanut butter.

There is a very technical and oddly sound reason for this act even though it makes no sense whatsoever, trust me on this.
It's got something to do with cleaning the blade (from it being drawn) and keeping the blade sharp...
...Yeah.

Licking a bloody blade is so not Kirei's style.
