The Battle of Adrianople (378), was fought between an Eastern Roman army led by the Eastern Roman Emperor Valens and Gothic rebels led by Fritigern.
This battle is considered one of the turning points in European history, which changed the balance of power in favor of the Germanic peoples. It is often seen as a rehearsal for the final collapse of the Eastern Roman empire.
