A thread on why I like Dvattra and think their dynamic (romantic or platonic) would be interesting.

1. There’s some interesting parallels to Dva and Ramattra’s characters. Shes a human that should hate omnics because of the gwishin, but she doesn’t and still fights for peace. He’s an omnic that once tried to make peace with humans but gave up to wage war on them. Additionally-

Hana was molded to be a beloved, perfect human to the public. Ramattra on the other hand is a hated omnic made for war, and could never win the trust of humans. She’s also learned to rely on her friends more, while he has come to the conclusion that he can only rely on himself-

They’re unintentional foils. I think Ramattra would find Hana’s compassion naive and performative when that’s not true. He even belittles what she fights for. They misunderstand and assume the worst of one another, but if given the chance, they could relate to one another heavily

Both Dva and Ram were thrown into war and are very intimate with the violence between omnics and humans from a “young age”. She was made a soldier like he was. The difference between them is how they fight for peace, and what that reveals about their lived experiences

2. They have great potential for comedy gold Idk you have one terminally online esports girl and a no nonsense robot that understands pop culture and lingo about as well as a caveman does. Putting them in the same room together is like feeding a small Victorian child a dorito

3. Dva’s canon attraction to omnics. She has this voice line with Ashe about how she thinks Bob is cute and Ashe teasingly says she’ll let him know. Hazard is dating an omnic so it’s not surprising or even uncommon for humans to be romantically interested in them.

Obviously Dva finding Bob cute doesn’t mean she’d find Ramattra attractive. It’s still a nice reminder that she’s extremely open minded regarding omnics and likes them, though. (the fact that she lists “tall” as one of the nice qualities is still a crumb for me I’ll take it)

4. They’re bi for bi I’m not elaborating on this one you’ll just have to trust me on this even their combined color palettes is the bisexual flag

5. Size difference. Not elaborating on this either it speaks for itself

6. High potential for enemies to friends to lovers trope with a dose of traumatized sunshine vs traumatized grumpy. Think of the angst and healing potential. Or the doomed romance if that’s what you like.

7. Enemies to lovers is fantastic but friends to enemies to lovers is better!! It’s hard to imagine them getting to know each other post-invasion but if they had a chance to know each other first as Hana and Ramattra rather than Dva and Null Sector… (I made a comic on this)

Their experiences are super unique and even Dva has a hard time sharing her trauma with her best friend. They have a good potential to understand each other well. And hey there’s some good fics about this!

7. Mechanic x Robot ships >
Hana isn’t a full on mechanic but we see her fixing and maintaining Tokki. Helping Ramattra out by tinkering with parts of himself he can’t reach is a cute idea, but it’s also a sign of trust and intimacy.

I’ll end the thread here for now, but yeah these are some reasons why I personally like the Dvattra dynamic, romantic or platonic.
