I’d always heard great things about the Zero Escape series, and when I finally got around to playing it I was not disappointed. Both 999 and VLR made me laugh, made me cry, gave me nightmares, touched my heart… And quickly became some of my favourite video games ever. The stories are full of intrigue and meaningful messages, messages that struck a chord with me and made me realise that even at the darkest times, people never give up on those they love. Of course the humour was perfect too, and I often see it in the friends I made through Zero Escape. There’s nothing quite like staying up until 2AM discussing increasingly more ridiculous theories over social media, culminating in someone proclaiming Sigma is definitely Pepsiman in disguise, and everyone finally deciding that just maybe we all just need to go to sleep.

Thank you so much to Mr Uchikoshi, to Spike Chunsoft, to Aksys Games, and to everyone else who had any part in making this possible. Thank you for all the great memories we’ve already had, and for all the new ones we’re most certainly going to make when ZTD is released. Out of all the timelines and universes that might exist out there, I’m so glad that I got to exist in the same one as you and as Zero Escape.
