It's likely that it's not because she's being made to drink a lot, but the fact that she's being made to drink with onis, the race that at one time were the lords and masters of the tengu and kappa.

Well, THAT, plus the fact that Oni can drink Tengu under the table almost effortlessly. In terms of alcohol tolerance, Oni are further beyond Tengu than Tengu are beyond Humans.
