I am pleasantly surprised to see art for this here

It's a darn good manga, especially for someone like me who has a thing for both WWII and folklore.

Looked it up thanks to your comment, Popebug. It was most enjoyable and I ended up reading all eleven chapters in one go.

Chapter "Victory of Death" was dark, emotional and awesome.

It really has that strange mix of whimsical and almost cute (although the latter part is because of the art style. Which I adore, by the way) and the bloody brutality of the Eastern Front, doesn't it. It also help that the author is obsessed with anything Russian, which means it's a real treat for both Slavic mythology nerds and WWII-geeks.

I am really looking forward to vol 2! The only thing that was slightly confusing was that the chapters jump between different times. In one chapter, it's 1942, the next is 1943 and then it's back to late 1941!

I never noticed need to read it over, just saw that chapter 10 is out

I felt bad for her lover though, I wonder if they could meet again...
