Artist's commentary
I think the only way I would’ve liked to see their married life explored would have been in a movie. It’s the kind of setting that feels very “special,” which fits perfectly with a film and helps avoid it feeling like just an extended episode.
In fact, I think the story of the movie we ended up getting would’ve been much better if Kyoko and Godai had already been married and had their daughter. That would’ve made Godai’s suspicions about Kyoko’s infidelity feel much more dramatic.
