An Aztec inspired design for the Warframe Styanax, with strong geometric designs. We tried to show our admiration for the art style in our own interpretation for the Warframe, and admiration for the Styanax Warframe. We love the materials of gold, turquoise & red colors, mosaics & tile works, extravagant shapes.
Styanax is specifically a Spartan-inspired Warframe, why have we created an Aztec? The reason comes in two parts. The more practical reason, our previous skin design has been Greek-inspired in the form of Sevagoth via the aquatic associations. We wanted to try something new. Second, in continuation of the desire to challenge ourselves we wanted to avoid the obvious answers when designing skins and in so doing provide more interesting flavors to a base Warframe. If we had given the Spartan Warframe a Greek skin, it would not be inventing something new for the character. We tried to find something related to Styanax but separated by a few degrees. Spartans are archetypal as hardy, historic warriors wielding spears and shields; in that sense the Aztecs can also be associated with the same attributes. Hardy, historic warriors wielding spears and shields. In this case, our inspiration was their God Huītzilōpōchtli, the Aztec God of the Sun and War.
