Here's the timelapse showing the 3D model adjustments
A lot of people asked, so I'll explain my process here:
First, I choose the default 3D model in Clip Studio Paint. I adjust the settings > body to adjust the body type.
Then, I pick a pose from the default ones or from the assets bank, and tweak it to match what I want. After that, I adjust the camera angle and zoom to make the composition I want on the canvas. At that stage, I will also play with the lighting angle for later reference during rendering.
Once I'm satisfied (still keep a duplicate of the 3D layer in case you change your mind), I rasterize the layer. If needed, I erase the head and replace it with a separate one from the default available.
Then I overpaint the body or line on top while stylizing and adjusting the anatomy/shapes where I find it it looks awkward, stiff, or just if I feel like I can improve it to better match what I had in mind.
To change the model's colors, you can use a gradient map along with color layers + curve adjustments. I was experimenting in this timelapse so I used this method, but I usually just do lineart then flats normally, and reference the model's lighting on the side.
I hope this helps, I'm by no means a 3D model pro but don't hesitate if you have any questions 🤍
