Almost a year ago I suddenly got the image of this drawing in my head and I became obsessed with trying to perfectly capture what I had seen in my mind. This idea of mentor and apprentice is so powerful in Star Wars but legacy is something that I found is much more complex. While attachments are discouraged by the Jedi, it is the bond of Master and Padawan that continues the knowledge and experience of those who before them and ultimately allows the Order to carry on.
That is what I wanted this piece to represent and why it took me so many different drafts to finally complete it.
Star Wars has inspired me in all aspects of my life, both artistically and academically, so I couldn’t think of a better day to finally share the piece that has taken me so long to craft and I hope you all have a happy May the 4th🌟
(Also enjoy some warm up sketches I did a few weeks ago when I was trying to see how simplified I could push my style lol)
