[Make These Feelings Reach You!] Bamboo Memory
You're always cheering somebody on. You encourage them, scold them, and share in their ups and downs.
Even today, you're cheering on someone from the stands up above. Despite waving a banner weighing easily over ten kilograms, you and everyone in the cheer squad continue cheering with your eyes fixed on the race, no matter how raspy your voices get.
You stand in the shadows, where light will never reach.
And yet, you continue exerting every last drop of your strength, all to fulfill your duty. You believe it's simply the right thing to do, and you take great pride in upholding this duty.
"Keep it up."
Suddenly, three words slip out of my mouth. They are spoken softly, quiet enough to be drowned out by even the sounds of everyday life. Words fated to drift away, and reach no other ears.
But then you turn around and face me, still waving your banner, and still cheering the racers on. It's only for an instant, as fleeting as the swaying of a flame in the wind, but I see it—your bright smile shining straight at me.
