  • Amber’s Outrider Log – Entry 147

    “Oh, now you’re looking?”

    He’s back.

The Traveller. The same guy who ditched me at AR20 the second he pulled someone flashier. One minute I’m carrying his commissions, the next I’m replaced and forgotten.

Today he walks into the Knights’ office while I’m leaning over a table, sorting field reports. And I feel it. That stare. Right behind me.

Then, under his breath—just loud enough:

    “Goddamn…”
    That’s all it took.

I didn’t turn right away. Let him look. Let him feel it.

Then I glanced over my shoulder and said:

“Need something, Traveler? Or are you just admiring the view?”
He froze. Tried to act casual. But I could see him sweat.

I turned back around wearing a small smirk—arched just a little deeper—and went right on working like nothing happened.

    You left me behind.

    But I didn’t stop training.

    Didn’t stop growing.

    So if you’re gonna stare?

"Take a picture. It’ll last longer."

    —Amber
