Reminder: An Android is a robot in the shape of a man, a Gynoid is a robot in the shape of a woman. The two terms are independent of each other and should not be used interchangeably. In other words, calling a Gynoid an "android girl" makes about as much sense as calling your sister a "brother girl."

Alas, most people are not familiar with Greek roots, nor care to change entire words just for the sake of being technically accurate when another phrasing works just as well, if not better in conveying the meaning.
